Here in school, my lessons are taught in English but I get to learn different languages too! Filipino lessons help me speak and understand Tagalog. My teachers say that it is important for me to be fluent in our national language. Aside from this, I also learn basic conversational skills in Mandarin. I call our teacher, “Lao Shi” in Chinese. Mandarin lessons help me to perform better when my classmates and I go to the Chinese big schools around our neighborhood. It’s fun to learn different languages! Aside from building my vocabulary, my teachers teach us how to sing and recite rhymes and prayers in these languages.
