My teachers say that the school was built in 2003. They are also the owners of the school and they said they wanted to put up the preschool so that children like me can get quality and effective early childhood education.
Our teachers say that the PROGRESSIVE APPROACH is the method that we use in our school. We kids love to play a lot! Even our teachers play with us. They teach us our ABCs and 123s through songs and dances, games and arts and crafts. That is what makes learning so much fun and memorable for us.
My teachers are dynamic, energetic, and passionate about what they do. They know all the children in school, no matter what class they belong to. This surely makes me feel the warmth and love they have for each and every student. The owners of the school are also my teachers. They are still very hands on with everything that goes around there. This gives assurance to parents that the well-being of students like me is of utmost importance to them, because they treat us like family.

Upon enrollment, your child will be scheduled for an initial assessment to determine what skills are already present in him/her.
Simultaneous with this, a parent interview will be conducted to discuss all matters and concerns regarding the child and her/his development and schooling.

Toddler Program (ages 1 ½ to 2 years and 5 months old)
The toddler class is where the youngest children in Milestone belong. Since this is their first year in school, my teachers say that it is very important for them to learn how to get along with other kids (socio-emotional), and to exercise their arms and legs to have a good sense of balance (physical). At this age, they are also ready to learn their ABCs and 123s (cognitive) and they are also guided by teachers to pray and to learn right from wrong (moral development). The toddler program also helps the young kids understand and express themselves better (language). The teachers always tell them that they are ready to do a lot of things by themselves and they are encouraged to be more independent (self-help).
Playschool Program (ages 2 ½ to 5 years and 5 months old)
There are three levels for the Playschool Program, the Nursery 1, Nursery 2 and Kindergarten levels (please see admissions for age requirements). My teachers say that in this program they try to integrate all areas of development in basic literacy and numeracy to the mastery of the 3Rs: Reading, Writing and Arithmetic. This program also prepares kids like me not only for the big school but for challenges that we will face later in life. Also, my teachers always tell me that there should be a balance between work and play. They teach me how to be responsible and become a well-rounded kid too! And by well rounded, I mean, they make activities that will develop not only my mind (cognitive) and how I relate with my environment (socio-emotional), but activities that will also develop my body (physical), self-expression (language), independence (self-help), national pride (cultural) and good values (moral).

Summer Programs
During the summer, my teachers say that my school also offers different programs that interest kids like me. First-time students can join the Introduction to Preschool Program to help them adjust to schooling as smoothly as possible. Some children who wish to improve their reading skills may also join the Reading Camp. Others who wish to try take a break from the academic lessons can try other programs such as Ballet, Food Fun, and Arts and Crafts. It may vary every year so please see contact us to get updated on what services they offer for the summer.
Here in Milestone, different programs are offered to suit the needs of children like me. My teachers say that I can only have up to 10 classmates inside our classroom so they can focus on my different needs as well as my classmates’. Plus they say it’s hard to really get to know all the students if we’re too many. My school provides two adults for us inside the classroom so I feel well-supervised. The Toddlers are only 7 inside the room, with 3 adults, because my teachers say that they are still learning to do things by themselves, that’s why they need more supervision. Yes. You may schedule one free trial session with the school administrator, to be coordinated with the head teacher of the child.
Yes, the school is open for enrollment throughout the school year, provided that there are slots available.
You may visit the school during operating hours (8:00am – 5:00pm, Mondays – Fridays) and complete the requirements needed for application. There is no entrance exam. See Admissions.
The school believes in positive reinforcement and therefore does not use physical punishment in any way. The teachers use encouragement and eliminate negative behaviors mostly through reward systems and discussions to help children understand the effects of proper behavior and right values.
Yes. The school may accept a child with diagnosed special needs provided that there is a written recommendation from his/her developmental pediatrician and/or diagnostician for inclusion in a regular preschool. However, the parents must schedule a conference with the teachers and other appropriate personnel involved in educating the child to discuss the class where the child may belong and his/her individualized goals. You may contact the school for more information regarding this matter.
No. The teachers may only refer or recommend the child for a developmental assessment by a developmental pediatrician or child psychologist.

All classrooms are adequately equipped with child-friendly materials designed for the development and age-level of the child. The classrooms are decentralized that enable the child to hone his/her skills in all aspects of development. It is constantly evaluated and redesigned to suit the child’s needs.
The toddlers/nursery1 room has padded walls and floors to provide extra protection for the children’s devloping motor skills. Furthermore, all classrooms are fully air-conditioned, have its own wash rooms and provided with child-sized furniture. For more details, see take a school tour.

Because of the school’s teaching methods, the grading system is not broken down into curricular subjects but in the different domains of development of the child. Furthermore, the grading scale used is not in numeric percentage. The child is assessed quarterly for his/her progress and is reported in his/her Skills and Behavior checklist.
The teachers use English as the primary medium of instruction.
Depending on the child’s level, he/she will be provided with the appropriate number of follow-up activities for the lessons tackled in school as home works. He/she is also provided with worksheets that the school has compiled and designed to suit the child’s level and development.
As the students move-up to the higher levels (up to Kindergarten), they are provided with a balance of activities and experiences that aim to provide a smoother transition from a small school to a big school environment. The school offers services such as orientations, mock interviews and simulated entrance exams to help the child know what to expect. Furthermore, the school also assists the parents in inquiring and completing the requirements needed for application in the big schools.

Yes. Your child is required to wear the complete school uniform from Monday to Friday unless otherwise announced by the school for special events.
Yes. The school organizes minor and major fieldtrips for the students for more experiential learning. See special experiences.
No. The children do not have a separate computer subject but each classroom is equipped with a computer ready for the children’s use and exploration. See Other Features.
The Mandarin Program is offered to all children (except the toddlers) as part of the curriculum. All students in the class join the Mandarin lesson time. Lessons are designed to help children learn basic Mandarin vocabulary such as numbers, colors, shapes, etc. as well as words for casual conversations. The older levels also learn writing numbers in Chinese strokes. The Mandarin assessment, however, is optional. Parents may choose to have their child exempted from the one-on-one evaluation by the Lao Shi at the end of each quarter. See Mandarin and Filipino Lessons.

YYes. The school has a feeding program for the students. See Feeding Program.
Your child may bring snacks in school which he/she will be allowed to eat after class but we discourage junk food such as chips, candies and soda to be brought in school.
You will be provided with the monthly menu wherein you can check the food that your child is allowed or prohibited to eat (due to allergies/religious practices/diet restrictions). It is important that you inform the teacher regarding your child’s food restrictions and instead, send a packed snack for your child on days when those kinds of food will be served.
The teachers plan the menu for the feeding program based on the children’s preferences and the foods’ nutritional values. The school’s cook prepares the snacks everyday.
The school was established in 2003 and has been operating ever since.
There is usually a one to two-week grace period allotted for the caregiver or parent to accompany the child inside the classroom especially for the younger age group. However, there is a designated waiting area wherein the caregivers can stay while classes are on going.

Yes. The children are required to avail the one-time insurance payment for the school year. This covers incidents that may happen in school and all school-related activities.
A licensed security guard is assigned to monitor visitors and clients who enter the premises of the school at all times. The school also provides a fetcher’s ID to endorse the child to his/her authorized fetchers only. There is also a security camera to record everyday occurrences in the gates and in the waiting area.
No. The school does not currently have its own school transport service. However, the school can provide a list of contact details of transport services that other parents have out-sourced from the neighboring schools. Some parents also arrange tricycle services that will regularly shuttle their children to and from school. Contact us for more information on this matter.
Most of Milestone’s graduates go to the schools around the San Juan, Mandaluyong and QC areas. Among the common nearby big schools applied in by Milestone graduates are LSGH, Xavier, ICA, St. Paul Pasig and St. Paul University, Poveda and OB Montessori, while some students opt to go as far as St. Jude Catholic School, ADMU, Assumption, CSA, etc.
Yes. Milestone may place a child in a class level more advanced than his/her age group upon recommendation of the teacher. This is based on the evaluation that the child’s skills in ALL areas of development (not only cognitive/academic) may benefit more in an advanced level. However, this does not assure the child’s placement in advanced levels as well in the big schools. Some big schools are very strict with their age requirements, regardless of the grade level the student has recently completed.
It will depend on the age requirements of the school you plan to enroll your child after he/she graduates from Milestone. Older kindergarteners may go directly to Grade 1 while some may be required to enroll in their kindergarten program first. Some big schools may also require children to complete a number of preschool years before their acceptance in the grade school level.
The school does not currently offer after-school programs or tutorial services in its premises. However, teachers may give referrals for such programs and services to suit the needs of your child. Special arrangements for one-on-one sessions may be arranged with the school only during the summer breaks.

My school has a number of school-wide celebrations and special events that my classmates and I really look forward to such as Christmas, Family Day, Sportsfests, Halloween, United Nations, Linggo ng Wika, Valentines, etc. During some of these events, I get to showcase my talents with confidence on stage! I can even invite the members of my family and even my friends to get together for fellowship and fun!
